I try to read many or all of the reviews so I can see if the review is a honest review and not just an opinion because it does not seem to be working as the reviewer expected. With this product you need to read the direction carefully and then read them twice more. A Compass is finicky you need to be out away from magnetic fields either man made or natural magnetic rock I.e. lode stone. You also need to find a flat surface that is level front to back and Right to Left so the needle. Can spin freely. Remember the earths magnetic field is not that strong so even a ferrous metal can have enough magnetic field to cause a compass to not read properly. I tested all 10 compasses and when I did it properly all read exactly the same and agreed magnetic North for my location. I have taken three pictures to show you the directions and the compasses reading all differently in the box due to them affecting each other and not being level so the needle could spin freely

The package came in with 10 compass sitting inside a plastic box. All 10 units are working and they are all pointing north !! Compared to my 20 year old shell compass (which is no longer pointing north), they all seem to be decent quality. Dressed some of them up with some mini paracord as shown in the photo :)
