But First everyone may be asking about the Region lock attached to the phones. Yes before the phones are unlocked their are region locks attached to the different models forcing them to only accept SIM cards from their designated country's. But after unlocked the Region locks are removed. Does this mean that all models will work everywhere, no, but I will be going over if the phone will work in your region after the locks are removed in the model descriptions below.
Second the different levels of service. Depending on your area and the service towers available their you will get different letters to indicate service level and the speed you're getting. Below are the most common levels and their average speeds in order for your reference during the Model review.
1. E = EDGE/GSM: When getting this sign you are getting the weakest signal for your phone but are still getting non-roaming signal for general calls and text. I advise if this is your areas mane signal strength you have a Wi-Fi signal avalible for the data internet conection.
2. G = 2G/GSM: When the G is showing you are getting remedial signal but still pretty strong. Calls and Text's will be flawless and you will be able to do general internet surfing but you will not be loading any HD videos or have perfect connection to online only game's. With this I still recommend a Wi-Fi signal in your house if you plan on using the internet in these areas.
3. H = 3G-/HSPA: This signal is classified as 3G but runs a little slower depending on how close you are to the main tower. If you're getting a good amount of bars with signal will do flawless calls, text's, and you'll be able to comfortable able to surf the internet and load videos at a max of 480P (360P recommend for best result).
4. 3G = 3G+/GSM/HSPA: This is the full 3G speed and will be also flawless with calls, text's, and be able to stream video like netflix(Recommended 460P), play online games, and surf the internet fast and easy.
5. H+ = 4G-/GSM/HSPA+: This is the signal that most first generation 4G phones use. Perfect for all light movie watchers, and small business people. Flawless calls, text's, and the internet is speedy. H+ although fast has been known to be faulty in a lot of area's and was quickly replaced. If you've got this signal it's still 4G but it's kind of like the EGDE version of 4G.
6. 4G = 4G/GSM/HSPA+: This is the 4G signal that most 2010-2012 4G phones use such as the Galaxy S series (Sept for the S4) Although this is a very fast and reliable it is not LTE but for the average person whom just watched movies and plays online games on their phone this signal is more than enough to give you a crisp fast feel and load HD movies (720P Recommended but not limited to.)
7. 4G LTE = 4G+/GSM/LTE: This is the current signal that everyone is going after. It is lighting fast and is the most reliable for non-stop videos, gaming, and downloading.
Now for the common phone models:
1. SM-N9000 3G = International/Made for Travelers: This is the international model. This one has a dual quad core processor running at 1.9 GHz Cortex/1.3 GHz A7. The reason for the processor being change is because this phone is meant to work everywhere their is a GSM signal and kicks threw the different processors to maximize signal strength. The N9000 CAN NOT to 4G speeds of any kind. This is due to most country not having 4G signal and that a lot of county's run on different cell frequencies. By removing the 4G radios this phone can pick up way more cell frequencies then the other models. This phone is not made for people looking for Data speed this is made for travelers whom want a reliable way to have cell service no matter where they are. Don't despair about the data or processing speed this phone still has Wi-Fi connection available and can breeze though 3D games; you shouldn't even notice a speed difference when doing tasks.
2. SM-N9005 4G LTE = European Model/International: This model contains the regular 2.3 GHz Snapdragon Processor. This phone unless unlocked is Region locked to only European SIM cards, after unlocked their is no region lock. Although this phone is an LTE phone it can only get LTE frequencies while in Europe. When you take this phone out of Europe it will get international signals but will not get LTE, when this phone is in the USA is will get H+ (Reference above) signal maximum.
3. SM-N9002 3G = China Model/Select Counties: This model is not LTE or 4G compatible. This was the First generation of the Note 3 released and is considered the Beta. With all the same hardware as the LTE version this phone will still preform flawless tasks.
4. SM-N900W8 4G LTE = China Model/Select Counties: This model will only get LTE in select counties and I advise you check with your service provider to see what signal you will be getting. This model is completely subjective as to what frequencies of LTE you will be about to get. Example: Imagine you are in Europe and you are in a city and get LTE. Then you move to another city and you lose LTE this is because the first city runs on an LTE frequency the the phone can get but the second city although may offer LTE to most cell phone; does not offer LTE on a frequency this phone can't run on.
5. SM-N900A 4G LTE = USA AT&T/Worldwide: This phone is International but you need to consult AT&T to see if you city or county can get LTE service or not. This phone once unlocked will work on Straight Talk, Solavei, T-Mobile, and any other GSM based network. Note: When using T-Moble, Solavei, or other services that piggy-back on the T-Mobile towers you can get LTE service but depending on your area you may not get 3G. If you live in a 3G area consult your carrier to see is the frequencies for 3G match up with this phone. (This review for the AT&T model can change at anytime due to AT&T's bootloader)
6. SM-N900T 4G LTE = USA T-Mobile: This phone when unlocked can get all USA frequencies. Example: You will have no problems using a AT&T SIM card with this phone and even get 4G LTE threw any service whom provides is. The N900T model is the most versatile model out of them all and if you plan on getting one I recommend going to a T-Mobile store and purchasing this model outright. Unlocking this phone is easily done threw calling T-Mobile and even using YouTube for an unlocking video.
So out of all the models the N900T is the most versatile, but unlike the N900A (The second most versatile) the N900T is harder to find online already unlocked so you will most likely need to buy if from the store and unlock it yourself.
I hope this review has helped with you decision about what unlocked version to buy.

Video review of phone Specs and features coming soon.
For texting, you can simply speak the words and it is so accurate. The size is great as it makes everything easy to read. I just purchased a Bose bluetooth head set to go with it and it is great to, which will be reviewed on that item.
The phone quality is excellent, sound, picture, to watch movies is awesome on this device. It is also my electronic reader - you don't need a tablet or a cell phone, just this one device. I love it!!!!!
- The wire sent with the phone was yellow and dirty.
- The phone does not show up for debugging despite enabling dev options and android debugging, could be wire or the port is faulty
anyways this phone is really really great!!! Way better than my Note 2 and S4 that I got tired off.
My HTC One and my Iphone 5S was awesome but nothing compare to my S4 and Note 3.
Just-ju-Just get one! You'll love it!!!
Theres some difference when I bought my Note 3 & 2 between my Note. The Note 2 & 3 that I ordered from Mercate(There cool) it had a manual with a different language I don't understand, and it doesn't come with a adapter.
Unlike my Note from Hassle Free, it came with English Manual and Adapter,-But its cool, I trust both.
Got the Note 3 with no regret and its powerful feature & multitasking-for anywho people/ But for geeks like me-no words(Just get it)
The Note 3 I received is not Samsung Factory Unlocked, instead it was a device made for Orange-France (Orange is a mobile network like AT&T here in US) which is unlocked. The device started in French and I had to trip it to English. Inside it had many Orange network apps which I didn't wanted. I couldn't delete many of them.
I would have given a 1 star rating since the description of this product didn't say anything about Orange-France and it was a waste of my time in this order also I beard the postal cost to return it back.
But I gave 3 stars only because of the cooperation this store provided to ease the return process. They have refunded my money promptly.
But I still recommend if you are okay getting a Orange network phone. After all the phone was good, just that I didn't like it as it had inbuilt apps which may not bother others.
Top reviews from other countries
This phone is a revelation and I want to try and give some indication why.
I have been using iPhones for many years with a detor to Android every few months (itchy feet!).
Whilst Android is clearly the more technically advanced platform, I always end up dumping the Android phone a few weeks later and returning to the iPhone.
Why ? mainly for two reasons. 10 years ago we used to say that a phone is mainly for phone calls. Internet was a limited and frustrating experience. Today I realise that I only use my phone 5% for calls, the rest is email, general messaging and browsing. The keyboard and user experience therefore become very important.
Apple software engineers really "get" user experience. I don't know how they do it but the keyboard on the iPhone is psychic. My typing is terrible but it manages to mostly get the right keys and if not, do the correct word substitution. It must estimate if you hit between two keys then pick the best letter in the context of the word you were typing or something like that. And then the word lookup is terrific and terribly accurate
Now Android keyboards gave me much worse typing. Not only that, but the word substitution was not automatic (no way of setting it). I could never get used to clicking on the correct word substitution after practically every word. This whole keyboard thing made me feel like chucking every Android phone in the bin after a few weeks (aka to ebay).
Recently, epiphany! I discovered whilst testing an Android phone, that savvy users actually never used the default keyboard (duh!). I found that SwiftKey app was pretty popular, installed it and bing!, now I had 95% of the apple keyboard experience.
That's the thing about Apple, you see it works great out of the box. Android you need to fiddle with it, and for many users they just don't have time or want to do this.
Step in the Note 3.
Ok, now the keyboard is great. I don't know whether it's the latest version of Android or a Samsung developed keyboard but many of the issues have been solved out of the box. One other thing though, due to the size of the screen they have taken the liberty of adding a fifth row of keys, the numeric ones. Genius! You know how frustrating it is when you are typing in passwords or email addresses with a mixture of letters and numbers, always having to flick between numeric and letter keyboards. Now problem solved. For the first time it seems an Android keyboard is better then the Apple one!
The other thing that frustrated me was the speed. Despite having better specs, Android phones have always had the occasional stutter. This can occur anytime, when scrolling, opening an app, etc.
The Note 3 seems 99.9% free of this. Again not sure if this is software development or brute force.
So whilst we are on the subject of brute force let's talk specs. The Note 3 has 3gb of memory, a quad core snap dragon 800 cpu running at approx. 2.3Ghz and a Adreno 300 GPU (yes, thats right, a graphics co-processor). The screen is a full HD 1920x1280 and is an AMOLED with Gorilla glass 3. AMOLED was invented by Samsung and its simply the highest contrast phone screen you can get. IPS screens, as used by the iPhone, have slightly more accurate colours and a slightly brighter maximum brightness, but the contrast on an AMOLED is quite striking. As well as 32gb of internal storage it has a microSD card. I put in a 64gb one so now I have 96gb of storage. Note that with Android you can install apps on the external card if you want, which is very useful.
This spec approaches many full computers!
Completing the specs it has a truly monster 3200MAh battery and a removable stylus built into the body. A stylus you say, back to the Pocket PC ? not quite, this is a whole new technology. For taking notes (aka the phone name) or drawing, its really very good. It also has a switch on it for a pop up menu and other fun.
Lets talk about the elephant in the room, the size. Samsung have been crafty here, the screen size is 5.7", only 0.7" bigger then the S4 but of course a world different from the iPhone 5. Samsung do have phones with bigger screens (e.g. the Mega) but in this bracket have clearly restrained themselves, e.g. compared to say the HTC One Max , Sony Xperia Z Ultra, etc.
This has paid off. The screen is larger and much more comfortable to use then a smaller screen, but due to the extreme thinness, lightweight and minimised bezel of the device, does not feel gigantic in the hand.
Its a personal taste thing and you have to push yourself to even try a device of this size. But the danger you run is that there is no going back. Even 5" screens look pokey, let alone the iPhone 5.
It fits fine in a jean pocket and you get use to it faster then you would think.
The main reason for me trying this in the first place was to attempt to replace both my iPhone 5s and iPad mini, which I take to work every day, with one device. Also cutting the need for two contracts. On a side note I have 4G contracts from EE and vodafone. Again its something you don't think you need, but once you have you can't go back to 3G. The EE network is more mature and has better coverage, I assume Vodafone will come up to the same coverage in time.
Lastly lets talk accessories. Samsung just get this much better then anyone else. There are all sorts of things, from charging backs (so that you can use wireless charging) to docks and headphones. However the key breakthrough is the S-View wallet type cover. This has a window in to allow the phone to show status reports of phone calls and texts as they come in, without having to open the cover. The phone is "cover aware" and formats a small square window to fit this window. It also switches on when you open the flip cover and switches off when you close the flip cover. This is just sheer genius. It sounds simple but it raises the functionality to a whole new level. The final piece of genius is that the cover replaces the back of the phone, so it doesn't add much to the bulk (although it does clverely add a less then 1mm overhand to protect the sides).
Samsung has always made excellent phones, but its no use denying that its basic design has been influenced heavily by the iPhone 3, which it has kept to slavishly.
With the Note 3 Samsung has finally carved its own genuine innovation into the market and created something quite special which is going to permanently change the direction of phone development.
Put it this way, Apple will be responding to this either this or next year, and not the other way round.
Lastly to mention the region lock. Samsung say it goes away if you initially switch on the phone with a sim card in the right region. I have no reason to doubt them here but will be testing shortly when I go abroad.
Its not surprising that this is one of the world's best selling phones. A busy central London Vodafone shop told me recently that Samsung had long ago overtaken Apple with sales volume, especially the S4, but now the Note 3 is their best seller. No surprises there.
However I was disappointed to see some minor cosmetic damage around the bottom left corner of the LCD screen.
-> there was no mention of any cosmetic damage in the original sales description !!!????
Now I looked at a variety of phones on the market and read plenty of reviews, I love the idea of long battery life, productivity and a quality experience filled with features not current on any other device and oh boy does this equate to what many people have said which is, that this may be the best phone overall at this moment, then again obviously it can't have all features, I liked some features of moto x etc.
The way it is, the screen, camera, stylus, accuracy, voice, apps, multi-tasking with multi window. I really want to show my appreciation to the Samsung, Amazon "for my delivery" got it within 2 days from ordering about a week ago or 8 days.
If you like to keep the standard 4.3 Jelly bean and like privacy also, you will be given a special implementation from Knox, it is a easy virtual space, where only apps Samsung have looked at thoroughly can be seen, take pictures? wont be seen in personal space, though can still share to social networking, by email, whatever. You have a master password, bring down the notification, enter master password, or pin and your in, click shortcut to go back or hold menu and switch between virtual space and normal, press lock button to lock secure area.
Flipboard looks absolutely stunning, which is some kind of integrated news app that you get by just swiping from bottom middle, and you get news you want, or defaults, share to social networking, save your own made magazine!
Extremely good for loading pdf, powerpoint documents, docs, this is the real deal, Also since having this phone, I'd say I have been throwing a lot at it and experienced no lag, turn on is super quick, come on people, I'm telling you, best phone around, also very light, much bigger than omnia 7 but much lighter!
Like the title says, it has made me really happy
Good luck, looking for a phone that suits your needs, let it be a smaller phone, or an iPhone to meet your individual needs.
Edit 1: Also you get 50GB of dropbox space for free for two years! and evernote premium for 3-monthss, Europe version
It isn't quite so simple going from an iphone (and mac) to android in terms of getting all your photos, movies and music across (and contacts). I used the android file transfer for my movies and photos (having to export my iPhoto library first into files) and I paid for the isync android app (not very expensive) to help with my iTunes music library which worked really well wirelessly. I used the bump app to get my contacts across and there was even an app to help me get all my texts over (with a little help from youtube too). I had some trouble at first receiving text messages because anyone else with an iphone that tried to text me they would try to send as an imessage so I would only get them on my ipad, but after contacting apple the issue was soon resolved.
The phone is really good on the whole and I love how customisable it is with android, but it is sometimes slightly slow opening things like gallery (could be because I have almost 25000 photos?) and the camera has crashed a few times just when I want to take a photo which is really annoying! The camera is really good though and does take excellent photos. I also love that, by buying an extra 64GB memory card, it is now 96GB capacity. Overall, I don't regret making the change, but I think if apple brings out a larger iphone I will probably go back - just because the iphone was a little more reliable, and more compatible with a mac, especially iPhoto library.
I will say that for a girl, as I am, the size is fine, but I am not so sure a man could get this in his pocket. The S3 is probably as big as it gets for that kind of thing. But seriously, I can't put the thing down!
