This tool will work with both sizes of shaft and both sizes of oil seal. This is heavy duty steel tool. Use a little grease to assist the seal into place. Apply the tool. Hammer the top of the tool, not the edges. Once the seal slips on the shoulder hammer straight blows to tool handle until the seal seats.
One other thought to help you. Unless you are a clown running a mud truck with big tires and abusing the four wheel dive train it is almost NEVER necessary to replace the Universal joints in the front axle. If they move freely with no slop don't mess with them. Adding a universal with a grease fitting is idiotic. Changes are the nipple won't fit and the permalubed universals are stronger. So don't get caught up in a bunch of internet experts that don't know anything. 4 wheel drive is not a 24/7 deal. You should only use it when you need it otherwise you are asking for trouble. It is meant for low gear speeds only. Wheel lockers manual or vacuum should REMAIN OFF unless in actual 4 wheel. There is absolutely no reason to keep lockers on to lube the transfer case. It will wear your tires down, stress your gear box. AND NEVER run wheel lockers in on if you are not in 4 wheel and are driving on the highway! If you get tires rotated make sure that the $3 an hour guy doesn't turn those manual lockers on. I have actually seen this many times and the transfer case smells like burned abrasives. Take care of your truck and it will serve you well.
When redoing your axles in the Dana 60 axles on the Ford F350's and other large trucks you need to seat this very expensive special bearing seal. The seal not only needs to be pressed on to the axle shaft to a special depth but also is a complicated seal with bearings inside the seal that move so you need to evenly apply pressure to the whole units while you push it on. Online people have spoken about how to make your own press and while that is inexpensive and lighter weight, the weight of this tool also helps it press the seal on. I had to really hammer it for 3-5 minuets with a large 6lb hammer to get the seal in it's correct location, it was hard work but without a large hydraulic press this was the only way to do it correctly. And when the seal is almost $60 by it self the tool paid for it self by not ruining the seal first time around.
